(Instituto Superior Tecnológico Particular Sudamericano, 2026) Tinoco Trelles Luis Alberto
This thesis documents the development and implementation of an institutional web repository for the South American Technological Institute. The main objective was to replace manual file management with a centralized platform that guarantees the immediate availability of projects from the different academic programs. For the system’s construction, the use of generic content management systems was discarded in favor of a custom software architecture, utilizing the PERN stack (PostgreSQL, Express/NestJS, React, Node). A key technical decision was the containeri zation of the application using Docker, which ensures that the repository can be deployed and migrated between the institute’s servers without dependency conflicts or complex configurations. The functional validation carried out with faculty and administrative staff confirmed that the tool meets the expected performance and usability requirements. As a result, the institution now has its own digital asset that not only preserves the technical record of all its academic programs but also streamlines research processes by allowing real-time background queries.

The purpose of this work is the design and development of an information system aimed at automating the logistics chain and electronic invoicing processes in the company Agrupación Maransa S.A.S., dedicated to shrimp commercialization in the province of El Oro. This research arises from the need to improve product traceability, reduce administrative errors, and enhance operational efficiency in a strategic sector of the Ecuadorian economy that currently relies on fragmented processes, manual records, and limited technological integration. The general objective was to integrate logistics management with electronic invoicing through a centralized information system. Specific objectives included the analysis of current processes, system architecture design, implementation, and evaluation of its impact on business operations. The applied methodology was based on process analysis and the development of an information system, functionally validated in a real operational environment. The results showed improved information control, complete traceability of orders from purchase to invoicing, reduced inconsistencies in pricing and payment calculations, and better coordination among the involved areas. In conclusion, the implementation of the proposed system demonstrates that automating logistics and invoicing processes strengthens efficiency, transparency, and competitiveness, representing a viable solution for other companies within the Ecuadorian shrimp sector.

This degree project examines the significant impact of integrating innovative technologies within the retail sector, specifically in supermarkets, as a response to the deficiencies associated with traditional shopping processes, such as operational inefficiencies, product registration errors, and customer dissatisfaction caused by long waiting times. The main objective of this research is to analyze and develop a proposal for a smart shopping cart based on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and web applications, aimed at enhancing the shopping experience and optimizing commercial management in supermarkets. To achieve this, an applied research methodology was implemented, including a rigorous review of recent scientific literature, an in-depth analysis of the commercial environment, and the conceptual design of a technological solution that integrates identification sensors, communication systems, and a web platform for efficient data management. The most relevant results indicate that the use of smart shopping carts enables the automation of product registration processes, reduces human errors, shortens shopping times, and generates realtime data essential for strategic decision-making, thereby promoting the modernization of retail commerce and strengthening the competitiveness of supermarkets. This study demonstrates that the adoption of intelligent technologies not only improves operational efficiency but also fosters a smoother, more reliable, and consumer-oriented shopping experience, positioning itself as a viable alternative to drive digital transformation in the retail sector.

The objective of this degree project was to develop and implement a gamified web platform aimed at strengthening English language learning among students at the Centro de Capacitación Sudamericano in the city of Cuenca. The research was conducted using a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, supported by descriptive and experimental methodologies applied to a pilot group of students. The platform integrates gamification elements such as points, levels, badges, and immediate feedback, alongside content for grammar, vocabulary, reading, and listening comprehension, with the purpose of increasing student motivation and active participation. The results show an increase in interest in English learning, as well as an improvement in academic performance and consistency in platform usage compared to traditional teaching methods. It is concluded that the implementation of a gamified web platform constitutes a viable and innovative technological alternative to optimize the English teaching-learning process, aligned with student needs and current digital education trends.

Nowadays, using digital tools is very important for SMEs to remain successful. In this regard, we propose the creation of a customized system for implementation within the company CB Distribuciones, which sells products for car washes, as they are currently facing problems with their administration. They use manual methods to work, using notebooks and spreadsheets, which causes information to be repeated. This has led to communication problems affecting different areas of the company, such as difficulties in controlling inventory in their warehouses, sales, and accounting. This study seeks to create and implement a CRM-type web application to improve management and communication between the accountant and the salesperson. A method was used that combined interviews and document review with tools such as inventory management, automatic emailing, report generation, among others, which allows us to measure whether the system works well and whether the administrative team of the company approves it. The SCRUM methodology was used in this project, which allowed for rapid development of the MVP.The results show that information is better organized, there are fewer errors, and time is better used in administrative tasks. The use of technology made it possible to have all the data in one place, which facilitated reporting and improved internal interaction, helping staff to be more productive. The integration of the CRM system demonstrated that using modern web technology well can help small businesses become more efficient. It is a key tool for modernization and sustainable growth.
