Abstract
The importance of this work is based on the research carried out on the main tourist activities of the canton of Gualaceo, where there is certainly a considerable potential related to this area, which somehow has not been taken with the necessary importance by the authorities of the canton. That is why the proposal of making a guide of the activities related to the natural, cultural and gastronomic tourism of the region, intends that Gualaceo achieves the necessary tourist recognition through the knowledge implanted in those visitors who need to know more in depth the different options that are found in the canton through the different research methodologies that have allowed this work to be developed in the best way. In the realization of the project it was possible to identify in detail the importance and more interesting facts of those attractions that the canton has and that make it a natural, gastronomic and cultural destination to visit at all times of the year and even more in the different festivities that are organized here and that have been considered as intangible heritage of the region.

La importancia de este trabajo radica en la investigación realizada de las principales actividades turísticas del cantón Gualaceo, donde a ciencia cierta existe un considerable
potencial relacionado a este ámbito, que, de alguna manera no se ha tomado con la importancia necesaria por parte de las autoridades del cantón. Es por ello que la propuesta de realizar una guía de las actividades relacionadas con el turismo natural, cultural y gastronómico de la región, pretende que Gualaceo logre el reconocimiento turístico necesario a través del conocimiento implantado en aquellos visitantes que necesiten saber más a fondo las diferentes opciones que se encuentran en el cantón por medio de las diferentes metodologías de investigación que han permitido que este trabajo se pueda desarrollar de la mejor manera. En la realización del proyecto se pudieron identificar detalladamente la importancia y más datos de interés de aquellos atractivos que posee el cantón y que hacen del mismo un destino natural, gastronómico y cultural obligatorio a visitar en toda la época del año y más aún en las diferentes festividades que se organizan aquí y que han sido consideradas como patrimonio intangible de la región.
