- ItemActualización de los atractivos turísticos del centro histórico de Cuenca(Instituto Tecnológico Superior Sudamericano, 2025) Karla Vanessa Freire AñazcoThe present study, titled "Updating the Tourist Attractions of Cuenca’s Historic Center," aims to evaluate the state of conservation and management of the main attractions in this heritage area. The main issue lies in the absence of an updated inventory, which hinders the proper promotion and preservation of tourism assets, affecting their competitiveness and sustainability. The primary objective is to update information on these attractions to improve their management and conservation while promoting sustainable tourism. To achieve this, a mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies. This included expert interviews, tourist surveys, and documentary analysis based on technical records from the Ministry of Tourism.Among the most relevant findings, it was identified that the attractions lack adequate signage, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, and effective promotional strategies. Additionally, tourists demand more integrated experiences and modern services without compromising cultural authenticity. The results highlighted the need to implement digital visibility strategies and improve tourism infrastructure. An updated and accessible inventory was designed to optimize tourism services and strengthen the destination. In conclusion, updating tourist attractions is a key factor in ensuring their preservation and maintaining Cuenca’s competitiveness as a cultural destination. It is recommended that local authorities implement measures related to signage, accessibility, and digital promotion to enhance visitor experiences and foster more sustainable and well-planned tourism.

There are too many murals scattered around the city center and its surroundings, but the project focuses on the most striking murals in the center so as not to stray from the existing attractions such as Churches, Museums, Restaurants, among others. The objectives are precise to advance with any project, several research tools were used to meet the objectives present within the Guide, among them: web pages, magazines, newspapers and guides to obtain a better result in terms of data and the way to structure the Guide. Questions were used to ask the authors and get history about the mural. The Google platform and Google Scholar were necessary to collect safe and reliable information, information about the murals was extracted, such as its name, author, place where it is located and its surroundings. With the help of magazines and newspapers, information was extracted about the authors with their social networks. In this way it is possible to communicate with some of them to obtain information about the mural they made. With the help of the guides that were investigated, the idea of how to classify the information obtained in tables and how they would be ordered according to their importance was obtained, some of the points that were taken into account were the ordering of the information, the conservation of the mural, location, colour, among others. In this way it is possible to obtain a route that guides tourists through the murals and has an idea of where the people are. To create the Guide, it was necessary to have a clear idea of how it was going to be, we opted for a classic but striking style where the main thing is information and images, for this, photographs were taken of both the murals and the places where They are located, this to ensure that people can identify the places more easily and can observe the beauty of the city through photographs. As for the information, a paragraph was added where I briefly and concretely explain each mural so that it is not heavy with so much text.
