Desarrollo de una aplicación móvil basada en sistemas de geolocalización para la optimización de la gestión logística del servicio de encomiendas en la ciudad de Cuenca
(Instituto Superior Tecnológico Particular Sudamericano, 2026) Llanghi Sarabia Juan Diego
Currently, the company MOTOTAX faces inefficiencies in the manual management of delivery orders through paper-based records, resulting in a high cognitive workload and frequent information loss. Its current operations show significant inefficiencies due to the use of physical records for order management, which mentally overloads staff, causes recurring data loss, and prevents real-time service visibility. To address this problem, the main objective of this study was to develop a web platform integrated with geolocation tools and Firebase to optimize parcel logistics processes in the city of Cuenca. Methodologically, the research adopted a mixed-method approach with an applied and experimental design. A census of eleven participants (one administrator and ten delivery drivers) was conducted, and data were collected through surveys, semi-structured interviews, and field observations. The initial findings revealed that a large proportion of delivery units experienced document loss and encountered significant difficulties in accessing information, issues further aggravated by limited technical knowledge regarding vehicle load capacity. The study concluded that the proposed technological solution is a viable alternative that enhances traceability, reduces operational errors, and improves route planning. Ultimately, the transition toward a Logistics 4.0 model not only increases staff performance but also enables the company to respond more effectively to the current demands of the logistics sector.
