Menú cíclico para niños y jóvenes del Hogar Miguel León de la ciudad de Cuenca
(Instituto Superior Tecnológico Particular Sudamericano, 2025) Aguirre Narváez César Antonio
This research work is developed with the purpose of creating a cyclical menu which is applicable to the Miguel León Home for Children located in the city of Cuenca, Azuay province, promoting nutritious eating for all children and young people who live in this home. The objective of carrying out this research is to propose a cyclical menu for a specific period of one month, based on nutritional and gastronomic knowledge, focused on the children and young people of the Miguel León Home for Children, located in the city of Cuenca. To carry out the research, the qualitative method was chosen, because a survey was applied to the surrounding residents of the Miguel León Home sector, in order to determine the initial situation according to sociological, economic, and technological factors that can be evidenced within the host place. The main reason for choosing this method is that it allows data to be collected through easily accessible instruments. A research background on the topic at hand was also sought to improve the results. Once the research was completed, the study concluded that charitable organizations like Hogar Miguel León do not have a structured meal plan for a specific period. This is due to various factors, such as a lack of food, daily planning based on resources, and the lack of a for-profit institution capable of generating its own financial resources. The main recommendations are to continue promoting comprehensive nutrition programs for children and young people to reduce the high rate of chronic malnutrition in Ecuador. In turn, government entities should provide more support and commitment to the right to adequate nutrition for children living in these types of foster homes.
