- ItemSistema de reconocimiento facial para la detección de somnolencia en los conductores de la empresa SERSUPPORT(Instituto Superior Tecnológico Particular Sudamericano, 2025) Sonia Melissa Morales Vivar; Kevin Adrián Naula GuamánDrowsiness while driving has become a common problem in recent times, both in logistics companies and the general public, becoming a significant risk to road safety, especially in the logistics sector, where a high rate of incidents related to driver fatigue has been recorded. In this sense, this project focused on the development of a mobile application to detect signs of drowsiness in drivers of the company SERSUPPORT. This application, using metrics such as microsleeps, eye rubbing, and blinking, provides early detection alerts and prevents accidents. The mobile phone’s camera captures the driver’s image, and through image analysis and facial recognition, drowsiness levels are detected. When these levels exceed normal levels, relevant audible alerts are issued to prompt the driver to react. This data is also stored for monitoring and appropriate action. The research was carried out with a quantitative, experimental, and practical approach, using a hybrid method that incorporated Design Thinking principles from the conception phase to the evaluation phase. In conjunction with the agile Scrum methodology used in the full development of the appli cation, the essential functions of the application were implemented through five sprints, achieving an operational version of the system. The results demonstrate that, through a user-friendly inter face, the different drowsiness metrics are effectively detected, activating notifications when high drowsiness values are present, giving prevention signals to increase road safety.
