Diseño de una revista digital sobre los inicios y desarrollo del Rap en la ciudad de Cuenca
(Instituto de Tecnologías Sudamericano, 2022) Juan Francisco Barreto Méndez
This degree project shows the process of creating a digital magazine, which chronologically exposes the history of Rap music in the city of Cuenca, allowing the general public, to know about the subject, its background, and also; of the ideologies that this musical genre has. It is proposed to give an exposure to the different rappers, music producers and record labels that make up this circle, this, in order to mitigate any kind of stigmatization or stereotype towards the artistic exponents of the genre. For the research process, surveys and interviews were conducted in order to collect relevant information from the public and musicians that contribute to the construction of the magazine, which consists of three stages, the first on "The foundations of Rap in the city of Cuenca" dating from 2000 to 2010; the second called "Punto y Aparte" that lasts from 2010 to 2018; and the third on "La Contemporaneidad" that goes from 2018 to early 2022. In the design of the magazine, the "Grunge" graphic style was used, considering its main characteristics. In its process, a mock-up was created, after which, the layout was made using the Adobe Photoshop program, with which, collage style images were created for each section; in addition, digital textures were implanted and all the graphic elements were organized. Also, with Adobe InDesign software, the magazine was assembled, according to the number of pages, and texts were added with information related to the project's theme. Finally, the project was disseminated through a website, where it is stored, so that it is available to the reader, and can be reviewed through a digital device.
