- ItemAplicación web para la evaluación de habilidades lingüísticas del idioma inglés(Instituto Superior Tecnológico Particular Sudamericano, 2025) Enrique Arcesio Ochoa Sanmartín; Carlos Alexander Quituisaca ParedesThe overall objective of this project is to develop and implement a standalone web application dedicated to assessing English language proficiency through a placement test, aimed at the language department of the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Particular Sudamericano. This principle stems from the need to improve English language assessment processes, overcoming the limitations of traditional methods, most of which do not allow for accurate, individual, or automated measurement of the four language skills. Based on a review of the literature, flaws in current assessment methodologies were identified, which led to the selection of a more appropriate methodological approach to guide the development of the technological tool. In this context, a quantitative methodology with an experimental approach was chosen, allowing for the objective measurement of the results obtained by students before and after using the application. The system made it possible to automate the assessment of these language skills, reduce the teacher's workload, provide students with feedback, and improve the English language teaching and learning process. Preliminary results show that, by implementing the system, students can access more accurate assessments that are tailored to their actual level of proficiency. In conclusion, it is important to continue evaluating the application through ongoing user feedback in order to make gradual improvements, with the aim of consolidating a more active, efficient, and student-centered assessment model. This proposal not only responds to an institutional need, but also helps to strengthen education through the use of innovative technology, promoting more equitable and modern teaching that is aligned with the requirements of today's higher education.
