    Solutions are created through innovation by exploring various paths, including technology. In the following article, Communication with LoRaWAN is the object of study. In first world countries, the Internet of Things is developed to the maximum. However, the Technological ignorance in the Ecuadorian Country is a source of motivation for new sciences, promoting a colonial city such as Cuenca to exercise techniques of a smart city is the proposal. For the project, short- and long-range communication tests were carried out both in the city and in rural sites through connectivity based on low energy consumption and limited data, the implementation of a test scenario at low economic cost was sufficient to demonstrate that the environmental parameters perceived in a location can be transferred to more than 5km away through a free frequency of 915MHrz, the Design Thinking Methodology is part of the project. Its phases led to the results confirming the technical feasibility where the importance is underlined. to embrace LoRaWAN technology by promoting sustainable and accessible solutions.
