Diseño e implementación de interfaces web basadas en el sistema de gestión de turnos médicos de la fundación Hogar del Ecuador aplicando Buenas Prácticas UX
(Instituto Superior Tecnológico Particular Sudamericano, 2025) Bravo Zhunio Bruno Esteban
The design of web interfaces for medical management systems has assumed a key role in the process of digitising the health sector and, in particular, the Fundación Hogar del Ecuador (FHE) has significant limitations in its medical appointments system based on a desktop application that does not meet current standards of accessibility and user experience. These limitations have a direct impact on the functioning of the administrative staff, causing delays due to the difficulty of managing shifts in an agile manner. The lack of a structured UI/UX approach to system interaction clearly shows that there is a huge opportunity for improvement and that a better user experience is needed. Thus, this paper proposes to develop web interfaces based on UI/UX best practices using React, Material UI and TypeScript, combining them with agile methodologies, specifically Lean UX and Scrum. The application of these design principles allows working from the user experience approach, improving the way of navigating through the system and reducing the complexity of administrative processes. The incorporation of basic functions in the system, such as authentication and shift management, is also contemplated in order to achieve a solution in a more realistic scenario that can be adapted to the requirements found. The results obtained show that the new interfaces offer, from the application of the UI/UX approach, a significant improvement in usability and efficiency by reducing stress in waiting latencies and achieving optimal interaction with the user. This work not only offers a practical solution for EHR, but also becomes a reference framework for renewing medical management systems, helping to achieve more intuitive, more efficient and more accessible applications in the healthcare sector.
